US Pledges Stronger Counterterrorism Cooperation with Pakistan
The United States has reaffirmed its determination to work closely with Pakistan in combating all forms of terrorism, as relations between the two nations continue to strengthen.

This statement came a day after Washington added the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and its Majeed Brigade to its list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations. The US said the move, long requested by Pakistan, signals a shared commitment to the fight against terrorism while strengthening international coordination against extremist threats.
In a post on X, the US Embassy in Islamabad stated that Acting Coordinator for Counterterrorism Gregory LoGerfo and Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker participated in the US-Pakistan Counterterrorism Dialogue to advance their joint resolve against global threats.
“We are committed to countering terrorism in all its forms,” the embassy said.
According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the dialogue was co-chaired by Special Secretary (UN) Ambassador Nabeel Munir and LoGerfo. Both sides emphasized the importance of developing effective strategies to address threats posed by groups such as the BLA, Islamic State-Khorasan (IS-K), and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
The US also commended Pakistan’s continued success in dismantling terrorist organizations that threaten regional and global peace. Washington expressed condolences over the loss of civilians and security personnel in recent attacks, including the brutal Jaffar Express bombing and the school bus blast in Khuzdar.
Both sides stressed the importance of building a strong institutional framework and enhancing capabilities to counter emerging technologies used for terrorist purposes. They also reaffirmed their intention to work together in multilateral forums, including the United Nations, to advance a sustainable and coordinated counterterrorism approach.

Reiterating their longstanding partnership, the US and Pakistan agreed that consistent and structured engagement is essential for promoting peace, stability, and a secure future for the region.
