Jewell Loyd Leads Las Vegas Aces to Fifth Straight Win Over New York Liberty

Las Vegas, NV — Jewell Loyd came off the bench to score 21 points, including five three-pointers, as the Las Vegas Aces defeated the New York Liberty 83–77 on Wednesday night, securing their fifth consecutive victory.

This marks Las Vegas’s first regular-season win against New York since August 17, 2023.

A’ja Wilson recorded her 15th double-double of the season with 17 points and 16 rebounds. Jackie Young added 15 points, and Chelsea Gray scored 13 for the Aces (19–14). Loyd’s performance also marked her 26th career game with at least five three-pointers, tying her coach Becky Hammon for third-most in WNBA history.

Emma Meesseman led the Liberty (21–12) with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Sabrina Ionescu added 18 points, while Jonquel Jones contributed 11 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. The Liberty were without Breanna Stewart (knee), Isabelle Harrison (rest), and Nyara Sabally (knee).

Loyd and Young hit back-to-back three-pointers late in the third quarter, with Young converting a four-point play to give Las Vegas its first lead, 59–58, after trailing most of the game.

New York Liberty missed eight straight shots in the fourth quarter before Meesseman’s hook shot regained a brief 69–68 lead with 5:26 left.

The Aces grabbed three offensive rebounds in a crucial late possession, leading to Wilson’s free throws for an 80–74 advantage. Las Vegas scored 22 points in the fourth quarter, 15 of which came from the free-throw line. Meesseman and Ionescu combined for all 14 of New York’s fourth-quarter points.
